To finish installing Chrome you need to switch out of S mode

Restarting your PC may be required. You should save these instructions where you can easily find them if your computer restarts.

    Drag and drop Chrome to the Applications folder. You might be asked to enter the admin password.

    Open the Launchpad, type Chrome and launch the app.

    On your Windows PC, go to the “Switch out of S mode” page in the Microsoft Store.

    Click the Get button and then click Install on the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store.

    Run installer

    After switching out of S mode, run the ChromeSetup.exe installer again.

How to find the Chrome installer

On your Mac press Cmd + spacebar (or open Spotlight search) and type “googlechrome.dmg”.

Still can't find it? Download Chrome again.

Find the setting

For Windows 10: Open Settings > Update & Security > Activation.

For Windows 11: Open Settings > System > Activation > S mode.

In the Switch to Windows Home or Switch to Windows Pro section, select Go to the Store.

Windows 10 S or S mode

You may need to change your Windows settings to finish installing Chrome. Use the link below to open the store, then click "Get" and finally "Install".

Alternatively, open Settings > Update & Security > Activation. In the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, select Go to the Store.
